Public Safety DAS / BDA Engineering
Enertel Solutions provides specialized Public Safety DAS / BDA engineering for buildings requiring reliable in-building public safety radio coverage. Our engineering approach considers project requirements, building conditions, radio-system requirements and applicable AHJ criteria to establish an appropriate system architecture and implementation strategy.
Engineering scope can include BDA / DAS system architecture, equipment and topology selection, donor and service distribution strategy, RF performance criteria, equipment-room and riser coordination, and technical coordination with the project team. The objective is to define a practical system concept that can then be developed into detailed RF design and construction documentation.
RF Site Surveys & Grid Testing
Enertel Solutions performs RF site surveys and grid testing to evaluate existing in-building public safety radio coverage, identify weak or unreliable areas, and establish the RF conditions that affect Public Safety DAS / BDA system design and verification. Field measurements can include signal strength, donor signal levels, noise floor, uplink and downlink conditions, RF isolation and in-building coverage performance.
For grid testing, we use professional RF measurement tools including the iBwave PRiSM to collect and document coverage data throughout the building. Test results can be used to assess existing first responder radio coverage, support system design, verify installed system performance, and prepare for final commissioning or acceptance testing.
DAS Design & RF Engineering
Detailed RF design can include coverage modelling, link-budget calculations, antenna placement, RF cable routing, riser diagrams, equipment layouts, signal-level calculations, RF heatmaps and construction documentation. The design is developed to translate the system concept into a practical installation that can be coordinated with the building’s electrical, architectural and telecommunications infrastructure.
DAS / BDA Installation & Integration
Enertel Solutions provides and coordinates specialized Public Safety DAS / BDA installation and integration using experienced telecom technicians and installation partners under Enertel’s RF engineering oversight. The installation scope can include RF coaxial cabling, indoor antennas, donor antenna systems, BDA and BBU equipment, RF components, grounding coordination and system interconnection.
Our installation approach is coordinated with the approved RF design and project requirements so that the system is installed correctly and prepared for testing, optimization and final commissioning. This allows electrical contractors and project teams to subcontract the specialized Public Safety DAS installation scope to an RF-focused team while maintaining clear technical coordination throughout construction.
Commissioning & Acceptance Testing
Enertel Solutions provides Public Safety DAS / BDA testing and commissioning to verify that installed systems perform as intended before final acceptance. Final system verification can include grid and coverage testing, uplink and downlink performance, donor-to-service antenna isolation, BDA performance, troubleshooting, and commissioning documentation to support project and AHJ acceptance requirements.
Our goal is to verify reliable first responder radio coverage throughout the building and identify any adjustments required before the system is placed into service.
Annual Testing & Maintenance
Enertel Solutions provides annual testing and maintenance support for Public Safety DAS / BDA systems to help verify continued in-building public safety radio coverage and identify changes that may affect system performance over time. Periodic testing can include grid testing, signal-level verification, BDA performance checks, RF isolation measurements, uplink and downlink testing, battery backup verification and system troubleshooting.
Our maintenance support helps building owners, electrical contractors and facility teams document ongoing system performance, address deficiencies, and maintain reliable first responder radio communications in accordance with applicable project and AHJ requirements.
